Our Journey in Animal Welfare
Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and many other furry friends, it was not surprising that my sister and I ended up in animal-focused careers. For the past 8 years, Nikki and I have been in various animal-focused roles such as adoption coordinators, fosters, fundraisers, volunteer coordinators, and dog moms. We’ve spent countless hours fundraising, donating money and time, supporting, training, and adopting animals in need. With 3 foster fail dogs and plenty of foster guinea pigs, we know that there is no better feeling than being able to help an animal or those who care for them.
The Challenges of Rescue
Working in animal welfare is incredibly rewarding, but there’s always another animal in need. Rescue is a never-ending cycle of providing medical care, training, problem-solving, and finding foster or adoptive homes. The needs are constant. With so much time and energy spent on these immediate demands, there’s often little left for fundraising or developing programs.

The Spark Behind Trusted Rescue
With our experience and passion for helping, we thought that there had to be a better way to do this. How can we help animals and set them up for success — rather than begging for last-minute donations, having shelters make euthanasia decisions for healthy animals, and leaving adopters to navigate unexpected challenges on their own after bringing a pet home?
Timing happened to be on our side as our fellow co-founder and loving dad, Scott, was working on his next entrepreneurship project. He was toying with a way to connect donors and the rainforest for conservation efforts. This sparked our interest, as the desire to engage donors more intimately in the process of rescuing animals was one of our main objectives. Along with updating the way rescues use technology to help their cause. In hearing of Scott's new business idea, we suggested directing his innovative approach towards animal rescue.
